Topic: NEW WAY TO CIRCUMVENT THE LAW AND DEPRIVE YOU OF YOUR RIGHTS
There is a new trend being used throughout the State to circumvent the law of deny you your right to cultivate your medicine, (especially) outdoors. This is being done by local ordinances. The latest is Amador County, which not only has placed an out and out ban on outdoor cultivation, but has done so behind closed door in private meetings (giving notice only to those they want in attendence and who support their position) in direct violation of the Brown Act.
To date ASA has apparently been misinformed and reported what is really going on in Amador County. Based upon the current reports their is an all out frontal attack by local governments to ban cultivation, yet nothing is being done to stop this abuse. Dispensaries are pretty much going to be a moot point, if these guys are allowed to tell a legal patient they can not grow their medicine on their own land (Elk Grove being another example), contrary to State Law, then say goodby to dispensaries. Then will be it, no smoking your medicine within the County?
ASA has made huge contributions and advances in support of medical marijuana, however if this trend continues it will all be for not.
Certainly hope, ASA is watching and actively planning on bringing some substantial civil actions against these Counties that apparently believe they are exempt from the will of the people and the laws of this State.
