Truth is, OCTA is only being run to try to sink I-28. Polling shows it only has a 32% chance of passing and they know it. The same folks sunk Measure 33, and we've been getting crucified at the legislature ever since. Then the same idiots traded away our affirmative defense.
And the folks running I-28 don't need any help with sinking their secret initiative. I don't know how they think they are going to pass an initiative that they have kept carefully hidden for over a year while they were trying to collect signatures. Pure stupid if you ask me. They are under constant attack from SRCF and OR NORML, so they have taken a defensive posture (hidden deep in a cave). There is never any kind of news about I-28, and the ONLY place you can really get information about it is at www.info.gro4me.com
There's certaily lots to dislike in I-28, but that was mainly because John Sajo thought that if he compromised with opponents, they would act in good faith and stop opposing. Instead, we got a crappy initiative that won't serve patients because it is too restrictive, and Russ Belville is writing articles about how much he hates I-28 and Madelin Martinez is openly opposing on DPFOR, even though OR NORML's BoD voted to take no position - just like with Measure 33.
