Must a non- profit use its name exactly as it is printed on the articles of incorporation?
how far would the deviation be from the name on the articles of incorp ?
It does not have the be exactlly as printed. For example, it the name was Meds R Us Incorporated, you can use the name Meds R Us. It the name is Meds R Us Non Profit Cooperative Incorporated, and you use Non Profit and Cooperative in the name, you must be incorporated as a cooperative and as a non profit.
what if the name in the articles is "Meds R Us Collective Inc.", can a person just use "Meds R Us" , in examples such as when applying for a biz license?
I used the whole name in the license and permits. Business cards, ad listings, etc. , we left off the Inc.
