Topic: Rescheduled... LA City Council Meeting - Tues 4/13

Hello, LA-ASA Members and Friends. The Los Angeles City Council vote on fees for the medical cannabis ordinance has been rescheduled to Tuesday, April 13. Once the fees are approved, the clock will start ticking towards the effective date of the toughest medical cannabis regulations in the state. These regulations will force most of the city’s patients’ associations to close.

There is still a lot of work to be done to make the ordinance workable for patients in LA. Can you take a moment to contact your representative on the Los Angeles City Council before Tuesday and let them know this important work is not finished?  Ask your representative to let legal collectives with no neighborhood complaints stay where they are. Arrive early to complete a Public Speaker’s card to address the City Council during Public Comments about the need to improve the ordinance in general. Please note that you may only talk about the fees and closely related issues if you submit a Public Speaker’s card for agenda item number 11. You can speak twice if you wish.
