Can a Marijuana Patient receive SSD / SSI / GOV. Benefits?

Re: SSD / SSI / GOV. Benfits

Yes.
Many MMJ patients receive these benefits/payments from the US and various State governments.

Re: SSD / SSI / GOV. Benfits

So a person who is already on one of those benefits would have to live or move to one of the legal states to keep she benefits?

Re: SSD / SSI / GOV. Benfits

No.  There should be no reason to report your medical marijuana use to the agency distributing the benfits.

Re: SSD / SSI / GOV. Benfits

My Caseworker in 2007 said it didn't matter. She said that what medicine was prescribed was between me and my Doctor.

Only thing close would be:
IF you are incarcerated for a Drug Offense (or any other crime), Social Security will not pay you benefiits while incarcerated.

Re: SSD / SSI / GOV. Benfits

You can get busted by HUD for section 8 housing assistance, too hmm

Re: SSD / SSI / GOV. Benfits

I live in a HUD complex on section 8. Three weeks ago the Manager made an illegal entry and very likely saw 2 ounces sitting on My table. I anticipate some consequences, What can I do to prevent prosecution? How can I propose Moving before they take action? Anti smoking zone issues May also become issue. I have a vaporizer as well as being a registered Patient. HELP! The New Lease policy is in effect 02-01-09.
Sincerely scared!

A vaporizer is not smoking as there is no combustion involved, as far as I know.

Absolutely right.  BUT...  you can smell a vaporizer pretty easily, you've still got terpenoids
vaporized and perfuming the air around you.

However Section 8 laws are aimed at (on premises) drug use, and since it's a federal (HUD) program,
it seems rather blind to any relevant state laws.

Until this law is revised, I know people are using vapor lounges as social gathering places to medicate
before they are brought back to their section 8 housing (used to freak me out...  I couldn't understand
how you could encourage patients to medicate and drive...  but instead I learned about how these folks
were trying to navigate the system so they didn't end up tossed out.)

In the meantime, I'd recommend anyone in this situation look for as many discrete ways
to lower your visibility as is possible.  An airtight lockable, or hidden container... use of edibles where
possible.

Yes, but do " They " understand that Non-incineration fact? And what of the Used, vaporized plant matter? Do They consider that when weighing for evidence? Worse still is prosecution avoidable?
